The Family Tree, etc.

Sat 8/1/2020 5:12 PM

Jeff,

While you now have 100% access to the Family tree, that will change in 10 days.

I’m canceling my monthly subscription (too expensive) and moving offline using Family Tree Maker 2019.

I’m able to sync the two. Now, when I subscribe again in a year or so, both trees will get updated. Easy to do.

I picked Family Tree Maker as it also syncs all the documents and images between the two programs, something that using a traditional GED file export/import doesn’t do.

If you wish to branch off on your own, I will provide you with a backup of my data.

Happy Birthday

Mon, Aug 3, 2020, at 8:17 AM

Beth,

My computer says today is your birthday. It is smarter than me. So, this is the song Pam and I would sing if you were here.

“Kings and Queens and Princes too, Want to wish the best to you! So, wish-day, wash-day, what do you say, birthday, Happy Birthday to you!”

Pam learned this song when she was in college at a restaurant called Cork and Cleaver.

I hope Jack has planned a great day for you.

Here, it is our tradition to see how long the celebrations can last. Michelle has a record of a full week. ?

Gravestone Question

August 3, 2020

John (NY),

Could this be your Great-Great Grandfather’s gravestone? John’s buried with his wife Jeho Zena Marie Ilcik and one son.

This son obviously can’t be your Great Grandfather. But they could have had another child.

If you examine the photo:

  • John Ilcik (16 MARH 1886 – ?? SEPT 1982)
  • Jeho Zena Marie Ilcik (28 SEPT 1887 – 13 AUG 1951), Age 63
  • John Ilcik (12 AUG 1908 – 02 JUL 1916)

Another Photo Misidentification

Mon 8/3/2020 2:16 PM

John (NY),

I think I’m always going to be generationally challenged when I talk with you. ?

John, IV

[The picture is added as part of my defense.  It is used as the profile photo on John Elcik’s (NY) Facebook account. John is in the background. For a significant period of time, I thought I was talking to the fellow in the foreground who is John’s son, Nicholas. My mistake. I seem to have a habit of misidentify people in photos. Ouch!]
